My name is Ola, and I am the person behind Highland Fae Chronicles.

I have always been drawn to stories. Stories filled with wild landscapes, strange creatures, forgotten places, beautiful costumes and people who feel as though they belong to another world.

I was never particularly good at telling those stories with words, though. Photography became my language.

What started as an escape from the tiredness and routine of everyday life slowly became something much bigger: a way of bringing imagination into the real world.

And I don't think I could have built this realm alone.

Some of my favourite memories have come from meeting wonderful, creative people along the way and watching an idea turn into something none of us could have imagined at the beginning.

That is what I love most about fantasy photography.

I don't want you to simply pose for a pretty picture. I want you to step into another world.

Perhaps you become a fae wandering through an ancient forest. Perhaps a warrior returning from a forgotten battle. A queen, a witch, a creature, a traveller — or simply a more fantastical version of yourself.

There are no rules about who you have to be here.

Fantasy is a huge part of my world, but stories don't always need to be imagined.

Sometimes, the most beautiful stories are the ones already being lived.

Alongside my fantasy work, I photograph elopements, engagements, couples and families, capturing the little moments that make your story yours.

My work is inspired by folklore, fantasy, nature and the cinematic worlds that have lived in my imagination for as long as I can remember.

I am based in Inverness, Scotland, surrounded by landscapes that constantly remind me why I fell in love with this kind of storytelling in the first place.

And while this realm may have begun as my escape, it has become something I now get to share with other people.

So if there is a character you've always wanted to become, a story you've carried in your head, a costume waiting to be worn, or simply a part of yourself you'd like to see in a different light...

perhaps it is time to step through the door.
